The Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master is an automatic movement watch made by Rolex. The first GMT-Master was presented to the public in 1954. Originally, it was developed in response to a request from the Pan Am who wanted a watch for its airline pilots on transcontinental flights. The peculiarity of the GMT is to indicate an additional time zone by means of a needle 24. The Rolex GMT-Master is part of the Oyster Perpetual collection within the range Rolex.
This watch was worn by Chuck Yeager October 14, 1947 when he established the first pass through the sound barrier on board the Bell X-1.
